Former Row for Hope team member, Jack P. Mancini 2015 designed this great poster for us and had the following to say to this year's team.
"From one former rower to the next generation, the best of luck to you all and I'll be there cheering for you!"
Jack now attends the Martin J. Whitman School of Management/S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.

"I was myself filled with hope that these young Knights would be inspired to contribute even more in the future.
The other moment came just last week, when I joined seven of our senior rowers as they were honored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals with its Outstanding Youth Fundraiser Award. This septet raised over $35,000 for the American Cancer Society and committed itself to rowing the length of the Erie Canal last June. It was a joy to listen as they recounted the thrills and challenges of their experience. Here, I thought, was a melding of things that make our school great: considerable achievement, and generous contribution, made by working in community for the service of others and an important cause.
Our rowers called this effort the "Row For Hope,” and I’ve been reflecting on that name. The idea of our students’ efforts being “for” something greater is sometimes lost amidst the daily bustle of homework, quizzes, rides to here and there, practices, and many other commitments. But what sets our Jesuit mission apart is that intense, essential conviction that everything we do is, in fact, for something greater than ourselves. We learn what we learn, we achieve what we achieve, all to serve God’s greater glory by serving those around us, both today and in the future." #RowForHope
Row for Hope is honored as one of 4 finalists for Outstanding Youth Volunteer Fundraiser - Group! The Association of Fundraising ProfessionalsAFP Genesee Valley - is hosting a #NationalPhilanthropyDay and awards celebration, Friday, Nov 7th at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center along with a feature in the @Rochester Business Journal: celebrating the critical role philanthropy and these contributions play in providing important services for non-profits and the community!
Amazing Tally= $42,000 Raised for #RowForHope 2014 ! Thanks to our sponsors, all the 300+ donors and these tremendous young men. They have “owned” the demanding efforts this project has required, for 6 months of preparation. They started with outreach to business owners and fundraising in the community.... They met and visited at Hope Lodge Hospitality House, to learn about the struggles of fighting cancer and to connect and share a meal with cancer patients and caregivers. One survivor encouraged them to: “row strong, for all of us who can’t.” They reached out to include a team of next year’s sophomores, to set a legacy and program guidelines to hand-off and continue this program of generous giving into the future. #MenForOthers
